Disappointing stuff for Hilary Duff.

Much to the disappointment of perhaps only Good Charlotte’s Joel Madden, it appears that girlfriend Hilary Duff’s latest movie, Material Girls, may never actually make it to the big screen.

A report on www.andPOP.com claims that Lukas Haas, one of Hilary’s co-stars in the film, said that there’s been trouble finding a distributor to back the movie and, as a result, he doesn’t believe it will actually be released (probably much to his relief). Material Girls tells the tale of two wealthy sisters (played by Hilary and, conveniently, real-life sister Haylie – shocker) who are stripped of their fortune and forced to fight to get it back. How compelling. Oh, and at some point, you’ll hear Hilary cover Madonna’s Material Girl, although if the film doesn’t get picked up, it’s unlikely the single will be either. ‘Cause we are living in a material world, after all.
